Tikka Masala Sauce

A rich and creamy tomato-based Indian sauce infused with aromatic spices, perfect for pairing with grilled chicken or vegetables.

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in coriander, cumin, turmeric, garam masala, and chili powder; cook spices for 1 minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and salt; simmer for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream; cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve warm with grilled chicken, paneer, or vegetables.

Notes

For a richer flavor, marinate chicken in yogurt and spices before adding it to the sauce.
