These Southern Honey Butter Cornbread Poppers are bite-sized, sweet and savory treats with a rich buttery flavor and a touch of honey, perfect for snacks or appetizers.

  • 1 box cornbread mix
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Additional honey and melted butter for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. In a bowl, combine cornbread mix, egg, milk, melted butter, honey, shredded cheddar cheese, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  3. Spoon batter evenly into the mini muffin tin, filling each about 3/4 full.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Let the poppers cool slightly, then drizzle with additional melted butter and honey before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, sprinkle some cayenne pepper or serve with a side of spicy jam.
