Samoa Caramel Apple Slices

Mouthwatering Samoa Caramel Apple Slices

These Samoa Caramel Apple Slices are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert, combining the flavors of caramel, coconut, and chocolate on crisp apple slices. They’re a fun twist on classic caramel apples and perfect for a quick treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 1 cup caramel bits, melted according to package directions
  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut, toasted
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 tablespoon milk or coconut oil (optional, for thinning chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Core the apples and slice them into approximately ½-inch thick rounds.
  2. Melt the caramel bits according to package directions. If the caramel is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk or cream to thin it slightly.
  3. Toast the shredded coconut in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden brown. Alternatively, toast in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  4. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If needed, add 1 teaspoon of milk or coconut oil to thin.
  5. Dip each apple slice into the melted caramel, allowing excess caramel to drip off. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle the caramel-covered apple slices with toasted coconut.
  7. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the coconut-covered apple slices.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the caramel and chocolate to set before serving.

Notes

For a cleaner presentation, use a fork to dip the apple slices in caramel and then tap off the excess. You can also use different types of chocolate, such as dark or white chocolate, for variety.
