Red and Green Caprese Skewers are a fresh and colorful twist on the classic Italian appetizer, combining juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and vibrant basil leaves for a delightful bite-sized treat.

  • 1 pint red cherry tomatoes
  • 1 pint green cherry tomatoes
  • 16 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  2. On each skewer, thread one red cherry tomato, followed by a mozzarella ball, then a green cherry tomato, and finish with a fresh basil leaf.
  3. Arrange the assembled skewers on a serving platter.
  4. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze evenly over the skewers.
  5. Season lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  6. Serve immediately or chill for 15 minutes before serving for enhanced flavor.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle the skewers with a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or drizzle with pesto before serving.
