Peppermint Bark

Peppermint Bark is a festive, layered chocolate treat combining rich dark and creamy white chocolate with crunchy crushed peppermint for a refreshing holiday dessert.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 8 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy canes
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer. Refrigerate until set, about 20 minutes.
  4. Melt the white chocolate using the same method, and stir in peppermint extract if using.
  5. Pour the white chocolate over the set dark chocolate layer and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candy canes over the white chocolate layer, pressing lightly to adhere.
  7. Refrigerate until fully set, about 30 minutes.
  8. Break into pieces and serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For extra crunch, use homemade crushed peppermint candy or add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before the white chocolate sets.
