Peanut Butter Cookies

Deliciously soft and chewy peanut butter cookies that are quick to prepare and perfect for any occasion. These classic treats combine rich peanut butter flavor with a tender crumb.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Add baking soda and salt, mixing well to incorporate.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  5. Using a fork, gently press down on each ball to create a crisscross pattern.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try adding a handful of chocolate chips or a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
