mini sausage roll wreaths

Delight in these adorable mini sausage roll wreaths, perfect as a festive appetizer or snack with flaky pastry wrapped around flavorful sausage filling.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz sausage meat
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine sausage meat, chopped onion, garlic, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into 6 equal squares.
  4. Divide the sausage mixture evenly among the squares, shaping it into a small log in the center of each.
  5. Brush edges of pastry squares with beaten egg.
  6. Fold the pastry edges over the sausage, sealing completely to form a small roll, then gently shape each into a circular wreath, pinching ends to secure.
  7. Place wreaths on prepared baking sheet and brush tops with remaining egg wash.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden and sausage is cooked through.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, garnish with rosemary sprigs, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a small spoonful of mustard inside each wreath before baking or serve with a side of tangy dipping sauce.
