Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup Korean BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, and grated ginger. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through and browned.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine Korean BBQ sauce, gochujang, honey, and rice vinegar. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring until warmed through.
  6. Once meatballs are done, toss them gently in the sauce until well coated.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve these meatballs over steamed jasmine rice or with a side of kimchi. You can also substitute ground pork or turkey for beef.
