This Honey Pepper Chicken Mac and Cheese is a creamy, comforting dish that combines tender chicken with a sweet and spicy honey pepper sauce, perfect for a hearty family meal.

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, diced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. In a small bowl, combine honey, cracked black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  6. Add the diced chicken to the cheese sauce, then mix in the honey pepper mixture. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly.
  7. Fold the cooked macaroni into the sauce and chicken mixture until well combined.
  8. Season with salt to taste.
  9. Optionally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or serve with a side of steamed vegetables to balance the richness.
