Holiday Cookies

Delightfully festive holiday cookies that are crisp on the edges and chewy in the center, perfect for sharing with friends and family during the holiday season.

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup colorful holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the holiday sprinkles gently.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra festive flair, decorate the tops of the cookies with additional sprinkles just before baking. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
