Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place diced potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain well.
  2. While potatoes cook, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Season beef bites with salt and pepper. Add beef to the skillet and sear until browned on all sides and cooked to desired doneness, about 4-6 minutes. Remove beef and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Return beef bites to the skillet and toss to coat with garlic butter. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  6. In a large bowl, mash the drained potatoes. Warm the milk, cream, and cream cheese (if using) together until combined and smooth.
  7. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the potatoes, mashing until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve beef bites over or alongside the creamy mashed potatoes, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the mashed potatoes or add a splash of sour cream for tanginess.
