cheese quesadilla

A cheese quesadilla is a quick and delicious Mexican-inspired snack made by melting cheese between warm tortillas until crispy and golden.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: salsa, sour cream, guacamole for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over it.
  3. Top with the second tortilla.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
  5. Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook another 2-3 minutes until the other side is golden and cheese is fully melted.
  6. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then cut into wedges.
  7. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try adding cooked chicken or vegetables like peppers and onions before closing the quesadilla.
