Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Spread cream cheese evenly over the croissant pieces in the baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle fresh blueberries over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants, cream cheese, and blueberries.
  6. Press down gently to soak the croissants, then let sit for 10 minutes to absorb the custard.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the casserole is puffed and golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For added texture, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking, or serve with a drizzle of maple syrup.
